Without a doubt, today was one of those all too rare days.  Little to no wind, not a cloud in the sky, high temps in the low 70′s and many students and renters clamoring for the airplanes.  It looks as though this weekend will be pretty busy for the instructors and students here at Spinks Flight Center.

Darin Dougherty 2 One of our new pilots, Darin Dougherty, hoped to be able to fly N21706 south to Gillespie County Regional (T82) in Fredericksburg, TX today, but the early morning lingering fog in that area kept him and his friends and family from headed that way.  Instead, Darin was ready with another flight plan that had them ending up the day in Stephenville, TX at the Hard Eight BBQ.  Clark Field (KSEP) is typically run-over by weekend flyers and their families headed to eat some of the best BBQ in the state.  Enjoy Darin!

Merrick Seekins 2 Also, one of our students, Merrick Seekins, brought his family to fly with him today as well in N2435R.  I think everyone had the same plans in mind.  There’s nothing wrong with a training flight to Stephenville, right?  Hard Eight BBQ for lunch with family and friends… and your instructor! :-)

It’s a great day to fly.  Perfect weather for those who love aviation.
